November 14th Meeting Recap:

The November meeting of the MIOH Woodturners was held on our normal meeting date. (Second Saturday of the month) at the Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian. Treasurer Ron Olin reported that we have $ xxxx.xx in our treasury and he is accepting 2016 dues. They will remain at $35.00. You can either pay at the December meeting or mail a check to Ron at: MIOH Woodturners Ron Olin, 201 N. Charles St. Adrian, MI 49221

Birthdays for the month are Dick Sowa and Henry Timmerman.

Craig Demlow is still looking for Toys for “Toys for Tots” and next month’s challenge is to bring a Toy which will be donated to Craig for “Toys for Tots”. Rick Strope has researched several ideas which can be used. Check our MIOH Woodturners web site or let me know if you need another copy of his earlier mail. http://www.miohwoodturners.org/Christmas_Toy_Patterns.htm

Jim Nickless is still doing the “Buy one and I’ll send two to the VA for the veterans” program and is looking for members to make bases to help. Bring them to the next meeting.

The Challenge was to make a Christmas ornament and the winners were” Rick Kimling Novice, Rich Enders Intermediate and Ted Wilkins in advanced.

Next month’s demo will be by Bob Seeburger.

Thanks for a great copper dipper demo Norm and Todd!

Don’t forget to make some flag bases and Toys for the Tots.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Jim Nickless was kind enough to put together a list of available resources for our club library.  Here is a link to Jim's list:  Library List

We are starting a mentoring program for our membership.  If you are willing to help by fielding questions, please get in touch with any of the club officers.

Don't forget about our special challenge of turning wooden flag holders for our veterans at the Ann Arbor VA hospital.  All bases should have a 3/16" hole to accept the flag.  Lloyd Niederriter brought this need to our attention.  He is shown below holding one of the holders made by our members even though Jim Nickless is now heading the program.
