I have been an amateur woodworker, since my High
School days. Prior to my
retirement, ten years ago, my efforts were directed toward toys and gifts
for the family. After my
retirement, I became interested in art and craft shows.
It was that activity that got me
into (hooked) on turning. I have been a member of the SE Michigan & NW Ohio Wood Turners Club for seven years and have just recently taken on the duties of librarian for the club. I have been a member of the American Association of Woodturners for 5 years. I believe in participation and have completed projects for nearly every one of our “Monthly Presidents Challenge”. The experience I have gained has paid off in many ways. I now devote the majority of my time to woodturning. I have been quite successful incorporating my “Lathe Art” into the arts & craft shows that I participate in.. While I don’t have a specialty, my favorites are segmented turning and miniatures. I also like to experiment with new wood species. I make a point to purchase something “different” every time I visit the wood stores. Here are some examples of my work:
