The MIOH Woodturners held its April meeting last Saturday at the Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian. We have several members going to the Mike Sorge demo. at the Detroit Area Woodturners this coming Saturday. We will be meeting at the Christ Episcopal Church at 7:00 AM and carpooling to Pontiac. About an hour and a half drive. Currently we have 6 members going. If anyone else is interested, meet us at the church at 7. Jim Nickless reminded the members that flag bases will be distributed to the Veterans on Flag Day, so the last meeting for him to be able to collect them will be the May meeting. The presidents challenge was won by Bob Seeburger with his highly artistic bird house. Great job by all that participated. The May Challenge will be to turn something/ anything from an Alternative material. Wood can be used but not exclusively. Break time was hosted by Randy Maynard and his cookie donation. Thanks Randy. Hereís some upcoming events:
April 23/24. North American Model Engineering EXPO in Wyandotte
May 1st. Adrian Center for Creative Arts wood shop open house.
May 14. MIOHWoodturners meeting with Bob Daily as our guest demonstrator.
We had Bob Seeburger, Ted Wilkins, and Lynn Southward contributing to a carving and detailing demo for April.
